Look what arrived the other day!

The only problem is I only have old m42 lenses plus a couple of pentax ones to use. I’m still waiting on my m42 to EOS adapter from eBay to get here before I can put the thing to use. Can somebody say mental torture?

If you’re wondering, I got the camera as a grey import from China. Gasp! Actually it was an extremely painless transaction and I managed to save about $700 from buying locally here in Australia. The store is Citiwide if you want to google it and I did plenty of online research before plonking down the cash with these people.

I’m planning on getting a couple of Canon lenses later down the track. The Tamron 17-50mm VC f2.8 and maybe the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 for those ultra wide shots. The VC or image stabilizer on the Tamron is an important feature to me as I plan on going handheld in one form or the other. If you’re wondering why I’m not planning on getting any actual Canon branded glass then my explanation is I think they are too expensive and overkill for video use. Heck I’m extremely happy now with my 40+ year old m42 glass.

More to come including footage when those bloody m42 adapters get here. Come on US postal service!!!
